In the Human Services sector, safety and risk management are paramount to client trust, staff wellbeing, and legislative compliance. This essential two-day workshop equips leaders with the dual expertise needed to manage both the operational environment and the complex psychological safety of their teams.
Gain expertise in meeting legal obligations by establishing compliant WHS procedures and leading a culture of care through effective workplace debriefing and support. This accredited skill set will empower you to:
- Implement and monitor WHS management systems to ensure legislative compliance and continuous improvement.
- Establish effective WHS consultation and participation processes for staff and other stakeholders.
- Manage WHS risk by identifying hazards, assessing risks, and implementing appropriate control measures relevant to human services settings (e.g., manual handling, aggressive behaviour).
- Develop, implement, and monitor policies and practices that support the protection of vulnerable people and children.
- Manage and report on work-related injuries, incidents, and hazards promptly and according to procedure.
- Manage physical, emotional, and psychological safety within the workplace, addressing issues like fatigue, bullying, and secondary trauma.
- Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of the organisation's WHS performance and systems.
This course is designed for leaders in the Human Services sector and is delivered online over two consecutive days. It includes assessment against two units of competency which are part of BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management, allowing you to gain credit towards this nationally recognised qualification:
