In the Human Services sector, fiscal responsibility and proactive risk mitigation are non-negotiable for sustainability and client safety. This targetted, two-day workshop is essential for leaders who need to confidently navigate complex funding, ensure compliance, and safeguard their organisation's mission.
You will master the critical management skills to effectively plan, implement and monitor comprehensive business risk management strategies while ensuring adherence to financial compliance and regulatory requirements. Through this accredited skill set you will be equipped to:
- Establish a comprehensive risk management system to identify, analyse, evaluate, and treat operational risks unique to service delivery (e.g., client safety, funding changes).
- Implement and monitor risk controls and treatment actions, ensuring continuous review and reporting on risk status.
- Manage the organisation's budget and finances according to financial principles and organisational policy.
- Analyse financial data and reports (e.g., P&L, balance sheets) to inform operational planning and decision-making.
- Identify and implement systems to monitor expenditure and income, ensuring alignment with funding body requirements (e.g., government contracts).
- Develop strategies for improving financial viability and addressing financial risks specific to the not-for-profit or community service environment.
This course is designed for leaders in the Human Services sector and is delivered online over two consecutive days. It includes assessment against two units of competency which are part of BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management, allowing you to gain credit towards this nationally recognised qualification:
