Stephen is a Lawyer and Notary Public at Kirkeby & Co. Lawyers (Newcastle, Parramatta, Sydney), and also contracted to Medcalf Grant Lawyers (Manly and Northern Beaches), as well as a Director of Kirklaw Pty Ltd, Psyc101 Pty Ltd, and the Mental Health Association NSW Ltd (a.k.a. WayAhead).

He is an experienced lawyer of 20 years, and was employed in insurance and I.T. before that. Stephen’s legal experience has included civil, criminal, family and children’s law, including working for the Department of Family and Community Services (FACS), and the Aboriginal Legal Service. He is also currently a panel lawyer for FACS for children’s law, and for Legal Aid NSW for criminal, family and children’s law.

Stephen is a qualified MBS, LLM and MSc(Psychology), and recently completed a Master of Forensic Mental Health at University of NSW. Stephen is a fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance, with experience delivering training and seminars for FACS (legal topics), Settlement Services (training for foster carers) and CCWT (legal issues for NGOs).
