Peter Bazzana

Peter Bazzana has over 30 years experience working in the NSW mental health system. He was a registered psychiatric nurse and for over 10 years was directly involved in the delivery of care to mental health clients, as part of the Burwood/Ashfield Crisis team – including being Deputy Director of this agency for serveral years.
Since 1992, he has been involved in the delivery of mental health education and has delivered programs in every Local Health District in NSW, as well as services across Australia and overseas (England, New Zealand and Paulau). He spent 6 years delivering education for health staff in the correctional system in NSW.
He worked as a facilitator with the NSW Institute of Psychiatry for 22 years and was employed full-time as a mental health educator from 2003-2014. During that time, he delivered training to thousands of health staff across Australia and overseas, as well as staff of various government departments including the NSW Police and the Department of Immigration an Border Protection.
He has been a member of the NSW Mental Health Review Tribunal since 2005 and completed an International Diploma in Mental Health Law and Human Rights through the World Health Organisation in 2013.
