Legal and ethical issues that arise in workplaces need to be responded to in accordance with legislative and regulatory guidelines, but also need to be managed appropriately with the staff and clients involved. It is essential that managers have a clear understanding of the requirements of legislation, regulatory frameworks, ethical principles and accreditation requirements, and that they can work with staff to implement and monitor policies and procedures in their workplaces to ensure compliance. Both technical and relational skills are required for this to happen effectively.
