This course provides the opportunity to learn about and reflect on the practice frameworks used in the child protection sector, and to apply these to your work role. It is in the form of guided research and reflection, with access to support from a CCWT assessor. You will also need the support of your clinical supervisor as guided supervision sessions are essential.

You will identify the national and international frameworks that guide how child protection practitioners work, and will work with your supervisor to discuss and apply your learning into practice. The course will conclude with the identification of recommendations to improve service delivery in your agency

In this course you will:

  • Identify and explore the child protection frameworks and guidelines that mould child protection practice in Australia
  • Consider the change that is taking place in the sector and how this is impacting on child protection work
  • Learn about and practice the use of reflective practice and emotional intelligence and discuss these with your clinical supervisor
  • Identify appropriate recommendations to improve service delivery in your agency

Workers with at least two years experience in child protection work
