Building Resilience, Wellbeing & Vicarious Trauma for Managers
This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.
Being a manager can be stressful and demanding. The roles and responsibilities of a manager in the not-for-profit sector require resilience and the ability to cope with change. There is pressure to perform at a high level, often without adequate staffing and resource levels. Boards, funding bodies, staff, referral agencies and clients jostle for instant and urgent attention.
The nature of client issues and the stresses they bring add extra pressure to the manager’s responsibilities to staff. One particular issue is that of vicarious trauma and how to respond to this in yourself and your team.
This workshop is designed to provide knowledge, insight and practical strategies to increase the tools at your disposal to provide support while managing effectively.
By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:
- Utilise Adaptive Leadership techniques to adapt and thrive in challenging environments
- Clarify your role in the context of change
- Develop resilience for the long haul
- Set priorities, maintain focus and manage time
- Respond to the impact of vicarious trauma in yourself and your team
- Practise Mindfulness and stress management techniques
- Create a plan for self-care and work/life balance
