This distance kit covers the basic strategies involved in identifying and responding to a community issue, by running a community development plan. This includes research into the background of the issue and identification of people and resources who can support the plan. Useful strategies for promotion and marketing are discussed and ways to encourage participation by the target group are identified.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Undertake research into a community issue
  • Develop program parameters for an issue of community concern
  • Develop a program plan and seek resources
  • Identify strategies that assist with successful implementation of a community program
  • Examine appropriate marketing and promotion strategies
  • Develop appropriate administration systems to support the project
  • Monitor and evaluate the community program

Who should attend?

People who coordinate staff and resources to run service delivery programs
