Community development work aims to facilitate community members working together to influence and guide the future of their community. This work includes delivery of a broad range of programs which contribute to the capacity development, through public social change processes. The work may occur within and across social, environment, arts and culture, economic, and recreation sectors. Workers from this sector need to be able to draw on skills such as empathy, sensitivity, listening and attending, responding appropriately, assertiveness and engagement. How to use these skills will be examined through this distance package.
