Effective assessment and referral is essential for positive client outcomes.
Discover what it takes to make an assessment that is accurate, authentic and person-centred. Build skills in referring in a way that reflects client needs and maximises the likelihood of successful engagement with the new service.

This course consists of a written distance package and other supporting resources. When you enrol into this course you will be given access directly to the material.

The cost includes assessment against the unit of competency CHCCCS004 Assess co-existing students. This is a core or elective unit in the qualificaitons:

  • CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services
  • CHC50313 Diploma of Child Youth and Family Intervention

This course will provide participants with the opportunity to:

  • Learn about assessing in a collaborative, strengths based, person-centred way
  • Examine different types of assessment and their use in a range of contexts
  • Examine multiple assessment tools and techniques
  • Apply assessment to a range complex situations
  • Identify and prioritise needs
  • Make effective referrals that maximises the likelihood of successful engagement
