Shared Lives Carer Training

Shared Lives Carer Training

To be able use and access Step by Step training and assessment tools, it is necessary to participate in ACWA endorsed training to be able to use the tools. The Shared Lives Carer Training package for new and prospective carers requires practitioners to complete the Shared Lives Training Skills Course before they are able use this training pack.

  • Shared Lives Training Skills Course

This 3–day course is designed for those practitioners who haven’t previously delivered carer training. Participants will become familiar with the content of the current 2021 Shared Lives training package for general foster carers and relative/kinship carers. The training supports practitioners to develop the skills and confidence in conducting effective Shared Lives carer training. They will also have the opportunity to put newly learnt training skills and nerve-management skills into practice.

The course is conducted bi-monthly. Click here to see the current dates for this course.

  • Shared Lives Familiarisation Course
