AI and Data Security

There are growing concerns about the lack of security for data provided to AI chatbots, e.g. Chat GPT and Grammarly. Many assessors may be inadvertently providing chatbots with extremely personal information that contravenes the applicant’s right to privacy of their data.

If you have been trained to use Step by Step but are not yet registered, or you are a registered Step by Step assessor, Step by Step carer assessment reports SHOULD NOT BE edited by AI chatbots.

Any questions or queries, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with the team at info@stepbystep.org.au

New Practice Coaching options now available for Step by Step Assessors

CCWT’s Carer Assessment Resources Team (CART) have launched a range of consultation and coaching options to further develop the skills and capability of registered Step by Step assessors.
There are three options available for assessors to meet their specific learning needs. Read more here.

Shared Lives 2024 was released in July 2024 and the first group to be trained as Shared Lives 2024 trainers were all successful in becoming authorised trainers.

ACWA is delighted to announce the release of SHARED LIVES 2024 NSW

This version reflects the feedback from the consultation during its development, including the need for a stronger focus on:

  • The general principles and approaches of therapeutic or ‘healing’ care.
  • The role of the carer to provide ‘healing parenting’ to help children achieve developmental tasks.
  • Integrating a focus on the care for Aboriginal children throughout the training, including information about Aboriginal cultural attachment.

The consultation highlighted the need to retain many features that assisted participants to engage with the material such as the use of children’s stories, carers’ real-life experiences, reflective activities and up to date videos.

If you have previously been trained to use Shared Lives, we have emailed you with information on how to access this 2024 edition. If you have not received our email please get in touch at info@stepbystep.org.au
