Clear Effective Writing
This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.
This one-day course will improve your practical writing skills and provide techniques for writing that communicates more clearly, effectively and persuasively.
In your work-life you may write case-notes, advocacy letters, submissions, reports about clients, court reports, referral. These are fundamental to keep track of and communicate your work with clients and programs.
They form the basis of decision-making about clients. Most importantly, if anything goes wrong, what you write may be called as evidence in reviews or even court cases.
Your work and your service are judged on what you write and how well you write it, so your writing needs to be focused, easy to read, unambiguous and convincing.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Assess your own writing skills to ensure that they are effective;
- Write more clearly and concisely using Plain English;
- Modify your language use, tone and style to connect with different audiences;
- Use effective formats and layout for different kinds of writing;
- Plan and structure correspondence, reports and submissions;
- Present a positive, professional image.
Who should attend?
All workers who ever have to write anything.
