Child Sexual Assault – Helping Non-Offending Parents to Support their Child

This course will explore the dynamics of child sexual assault in relation to:
- The tactics of offenders
- The disclosure process of children
- How to work with non-offending parents to support belief, protection and healing of their children
We will cover the research on the tri-issues of dynamics, disclosure and non-offending work. In addition, the workshop will introduce participants to a practice model that will be practised throughout the workshop.
At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Articulate the main tactics of offenders
- Articulate the main tenets of the disclosure process of children
- Articulate the effects of abuse on the parent-child bond
- Articulate the process of moving from disbelief to belief
- Demonstrate practical application of techniques to work with non-offending parents to support belief, protection and healing of their children
