Child Sexual Assault – Helping Non-Offending Parents to Support their Child

This course will explore the dynamics of child sexual assault in relation to:

  • The tactics of offenders
  • The disclosure process of children
  • How to work with non-offending parents to support belief, protection and healing of their children

We will cover the research on the tri-issues of dynamics, disclosure and non-offending work. In addition, the workshop will introduce participants to a practice model that will be practised throughout the workshop.

At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Articulate the main tactics of offenders
  • Articulate the main tenets of the disclosure process of children
  • Articulate the effects of abuse on the parent-child bond
  • Articulate the process of moving from disbelief to belief
  • Demonstrate practical application of techniques to work with non-offending parents to support belief, protection and healing of their children
