Developing the Best Business Model for Your Service in the New Environment

This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.

In a market, consumer-driven environment organisations are seeking to secure their income. Some rely on income from people who use their service; others are seeking new ways to bring in funds to operate their service.

This is where a business model is essential. It defines the consumers/clients to be reached, the services to be provided to them, including the unique value of those services, the cost of providing services, and the organisation’s sources of income or revenue.

A clear, strong business model will provide a shared consumer focused direction for everyone in the organisation, and will guide the organisation’s major processes such as promotion and marketing, and staff training.

In this training program you will learn to develop a business model for your service, to communicate it and get the buy-in of your Board/Management Committee and staff, and to implement it in a consistent way.

In this practical and interactive training program you will:

  • Define a business model and identify why it’s important to have one in the current environment.
  • Develop an outline for a business model for your service based on business model elements relevant for community service organisations.
  • Take away tools and templates to use in your service.
  • Identify ways to work with your Board/Management Committee, staff and partners to implement your business model.
  • Develop strategies to adapt current systems, processes and practice to match your new business model
