Successful Cultural Practice

This course has no current classes. Please the waiting list.

A joint initiative of NSW Community Services and the Centre for Community Welfare Training (CCWT), this course examines culturally reflective practice for working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) individuals and families.

Participants will examine needs and challenges that can impact people from CALD backgrounds, and learn to apply the Culturally Reflective Practice model in a broad range of service types, thereby ensuring that service delivery meets individual needs.

The Culturally Reflective Practice model will allow for a deeper exploration of practitioner attitudes (including values & stereotypes), knowledge and skills, all of which will influence our work with clients.

By the end of this session, you will be able to:

  • Apply the Culturally Reflective Practice model when working with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds
  • Describe needs and challenges that can impact on individuals and families from CALD backgrounds

Who should attend?

Community Sector workers, managers and/or practitioners who work closely with culturally diverse individuals and families
