Community engagement and consultation are essential to create pathways to services, identify community needs, plan and evaluate services, and build community capacity. Use internationally accepted community engagement best practice to develop a community engagement and consultation plan and explore techniques for engaging and consulting with communities, including those we find difficult to reach.

You will have the opportunity to plan engagement and consultation processes with your community and are encouraged to bring along work issues to discuss during the workshop.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Plan a community engagement process based on the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2) framework
  • Identify a range of engagement and techniques including for reaching people who are difficult to reach
  • Develop strategies for community engagement and consultation relevant to you’re your community
