Professor Featherstone will present on early interven on and adoption, bringing an ethical lens to these two areas of practice.

Professor Featherstone has an impressive reputation in the areas of gender, fathers and child protection. Her recent co-authored book Re-imagining Child Protection: Towards humane social work with families has been highly influential and led to invitations to speak and advise on reforming child protection nationally and internationally.

Professor Featherstone recently led an inquiry in the UK into the role of social workers in adoption using ethical and human rights perspectives. She also won the Kay McDougall prize in 2015 for her co-authored article A Marriage Made in Hell: Early Intervention Meets Child Protection.
